Down Jersey Coalition
Mission Statement
Down Jersey Coalition is a nonpartisan group composed primarily of residents of New Jersey's 2nd Congressional District. DJC was created by citizens concerned about the crisis our country is experiencing under the current administration.
We are committed to using our voices, individually and collectively, to resist the destruction of government programs and the values our country was built upon in a positive and constructive manner.
Membership is open to NJ 2nd Congressional District residents and others who share our core concerns.

2. For your reading pleasure: A NJ.COM reporter, Matt Gray wrote an excellent article on the negative impact that ICE has made on the businesses and residents of Bridgeton. Our Founder, Penny Watson, was interviewed during a recent Compassion Watch and Down Jersey Coalition is referenced in the article. Read it here:
3. DJC is sending a huge Thank You and shout out to Gov. Sherrill:
In a move that is due in large part to Gov Sherrill’s opposition, Daedalus Aviation has withdrawn its request to lease hangar space from the Delaware River Bay Authority. Daedalus Aviation recently was awarded a multimillion dollar grant by DHS to purchase planes for use in deportation flights. The DRBA commission, which is responsible for Millville, Cape May and Wilmington DE airports, was voting on their rental application at their meeting on February 18.

Sister Group Actions and Opportunities
Immigrant Rights and safety are a huge concern for residents of CC, at the start of WWII, many of our families have been impacted by an unconstitutional Presidential Executive Order. Executive Order 9066 signed by President Franklin Roosevelt on on February 19, 1942 authorized the forced removal of all persons deemed a threat to national security from the West Coast to "relocation centers" further inland – resulting in the incarceration of Japanese Americans.
On Saturday, February 21, from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. members of the public are invited to join Seabrook Education Center for a Day of Remembrance. It will be held at Seabrook Buddhist Temple, 9 Northville Rd. Seabrook, NJ
