Mission Statement
Down Jersey Coalition is a nonpartisan group composed primarily of residents of New Jersey's 2nd Congressional District. DJC was created by citizens concerned about the crisis our country is experiencing under the current administration.
We are committed to using our voices, individually and collectively, to resist the destruction of government programs and the values our country was built upon in a positive and constructive manner.
Membership is open to NJ 2nd Congressional District residents and others who share our core concerns.

Down Jersey Coalition Newsletter and June 9 meeting minutes
As of today (June 14) the certified results of Cumberland County, NJ primary have not been published. Final votes were supposed to be tabulated on Wed, June 10 with results certified on Friday, June 12.
Meeting minutes from the membership meeting June 9, 2026 (Thanks, Edwin, for your notes):
The steering committee explained to members that, due to personal commitments and due to the overriding importance of the outcome of the November elections, we feel it is mandatory to focus our attention on organizing activities related to the November 3 elections.
2. This focus means that we are not going to be expending our energies to support the national actions and campaigns that we have been supporting, at least until after the mid-terms
3.As was done at the meeting, We invite anyone that would like to take the lead in any upcoming National days of action to please step up. Steering committee members will be happy to share our tips for organizing and running a major rally. As of today, no one has stepped forward. If you are willing to take the lead, Email us at downjerseycoalition.org
4. Down Jersey Coalition’s local activities:
- Friday Compassion Watch
- Tuesday Drive Time
- Bridge Brigade
will continue while the main DJC activity focus will be the mid term election.
4. We will still share information about our SJ Sister Groups’ actions along with informing members of important issues, including bills, as well as national and local areas of concern. This will be done, as always, via the weekly newsletter, our website - downjerseycoalition.org- and our FaceBook page.
5. Edwin introduced a national organization, Field Team 6 (FT6), to members. Field Team 6 has, since the 2016 election, worked to register Democratic voters and to encourage Dems already registered to vote. They target vulnerable Red Senate and House seats in any state and provide resident names, addresses and training for volunteers for each targeted area. He walked us through the FT6 website, highlighting several activities, even ones that can be done from home, that FT6 uses to achieve this goal.
Cynthia R. will lead this branch of our efforts. If you are interested in learning more, please contact her at millpond4@gmail.com or email us at DownJerseyCoaltion@gmail.com and we will see she gets your information. She will be in touch with everyone shortly.
6. In the immediate future, we will be focusing our activities in three election–related directions:
- Directly supporting candidates
- Getting registered voters to actually vote
- Registering new voters
7. We were able to spend significant time brainstorming ways to get our preferred candidates elected.
It became clear that the members in the room were interested in two things primarily:
Some public communication strategy to encourage voting for Zach Mulloch, and dumping Van Drew.
Postcarding to CD-2 voters, particularly in Cumberland County.
8. Zack Mullock’s campaign responded enthusiastically to our invitation to have someone from his organization attend one of our meetings (hopefully July’s ) so we can coordinate our efforts to make sure all areas of CumCo are covered and that we are aware of the strategies they will be using.
Because the county commission race primary results were not certified until June 12, we have not reached out to them but we will also be inviting the candidates that share DJC values to meet with our members in order to support their campaigns as well.
July’s meeting date will be announced as soon as we have secured a venue.
